Greenman were selected to carry out the work prior to construction and refurbishment of the hotel on the historic island.
The work required tree removal and pruning of the island trees. A tracked chipper, stump grinder and LGP tracked winch vehicle were all required for the works. The difficulty was that no vehicle or plant access was available. The only access is via a footbridge.
GM Marine provided a 4m floating work platform and work boat to load and transport the plant down the Thames and onto the island.
Several large trees had collapsed into the river and required a work boat to access them safely. Greenman tree teams worked from the river to remove the fallen stems.
All staff members hold water safety certificates.
