In 2015 Greenman were engaged directly by Bath Rugby at their important site in the centre of the city working closely with architects and engineers CMS Group and ground workers on the demolition and construction of their new West Stand.
Working within the Bath Conservation Area and in close proximity to a group of 3rd party owned Tulip Trees which form a very important amenity feature bounding a highly used thoroughfare adjacent to the River Avon. Our involvement started with desk based studies for statutory and non statutory constraints, pre-commencement meetings, site survey to BS5837-2012 subsequent distribution of the constraints information and input into the final design. Additional work comprised site excavations using compressed air lance (air spade) to establish rooting architectures of adjacent trees, minor pruning and reshaping by our site teams of overhanging vegetation to allow the fitting of the heavy duty canvas roof and prevent subsequent abrasion.
The new stand was complete and ready for the commencement of the 2016 rugby season, all trees were safely protected and planning conditions relating to trees discharged successfully.
